Saw this statue in a small courtyard of a shop that sold native american art. I also saw a similar statue of this at the Smithsonian Native American Muesum, Washington DC.

This Statue was located at the Cathedral Basilica of St Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe, NM.

We visited the Georgia O'keeffe Muesum but could not tour anything except the gift shop because they were setting up for the exibition shown here.

  1. I presume the two twin statues were by the same artist or one of them is a reproduction of an original?

  2. While the two statues look alike I believe the status are different and I do not know whether or not if they were made by the same artist.

  3. Kateri Tekakwitha is also known as 'Lily of the Mohawks'. Was surprised she was from what is now the NY area. She lived there 'before' there was a US! Always think Native Indians are from the West..and only were here since the English arrived! Think grammar school history books should be updated and much more inclusive! Beautiful statue!
